The Macquarie Point Development Corporation has selected Fulton Hogan to undertake $3.8 million worth of major infrastructure and construction work onsite.
Macquarie Point Development Corporation CEO, Mary Massina, said the work is the first step in opening up other parcels of land to develop.
“The Northern Vehicular Access project consists of works including the construction of a new stairlink — which for the first time connects the Mac Point site to the Cenotaph — site infrastructure and supporting services, earthworks, and the construction of a road to support access to a number of development parcels, including The Escarpment land release.
“The new road alignment also provides provision for future public transport options currently being considered by the State Government.
“Fulton Hogan has a strong reputation in Tasmania for producing quality work and we are pleased to have them on board.” Ms Massina said.
It’s anticipated the work will create around 50 direct and indirect jobs during the six-month construction period.
The work is due to be completed by November.
